About Department

Electronics and communication engineering department is one of the pioneering departments of RKGIT group. The ECE department is consistent with an aim to create Nation's best Technocrats, Leaders, Researchers and Entrepreneur. The Department is best example of amalgamation when it comes to core Engineering and latest software knowledge. The curriculum is designed with an objective to fit our upcoming engineers in several renowned companies including core Electronics and software Industries. The department is well equipped with its own Library, Latest Tools, Software and practice Kits to provide hands-on and real-time experience for curious minds. Along with this the qualified faculties, experienced staff & up- to- date laboratories work in cumulative approach to create countries best future engineers. In addition to that as an approach to provide learning based on exposure, the department arranges Expert Talks, Seminar, Activities, Competitions and Industrial visit on Regular basis.

Department Objective:

To provide students with a worldwide education that is rigorous in order for them to flourish in undergraduate programme of Electronics & Communication and in industry or technical careers. To offer students a learning environment that recognizes success and excellent leadership.

About the Program

A four-year undergraduate programme in B. Tech. in Electronics & Communication Engineering gives students the skills to create a hardware/software system, component, or method to satisfy needs while working within practical restrictions. A student will be able to work in multidisciplinary teams, develop and solve engineering challenges, and design and compare solutions, algorithms, and protocols after successfully completing the programme. The curriculum has a strong emphasis on digital transformation technologies that help students develop their understanding of both Electronics as well as Communication. The curriculum includes knowledge of the analog & digital circuits, microelectronics, VLSI Design, Embedded Systems, Sensors & Instrumentations, Wireless Technology, Antenna system, transmission, Optical communication, Digital designing etc. The curriculum is well-connected to industry in order to prepare students for the workplace, and it gives them enough freedom to pursue electives and projects of their choosing.

The Program Educational Objectives (PEOs) of UG Program in Electronic and Communication Engineering (ECE) are:

PEO-1 Knowledge Acquisition: Graduates having strong background in Mathematics, Science, and Engineering & Technology and able to employ necessary techniques, hardware, and software tools for modern engineering applications.

PEO-2 Competency for Employment: Graduates will be involved in professional societies, formal educational opportunities; industry oriented training programs that enhances their ability to be productive in their place of employment.

PEO-3 Innovative Skills: Graduates will demonstrate high levels of creativity, critical thinking, responsibility, teamwork and leadership in their careers.

PEO-4 Social Contribution: Graduates understand professional, ethical and social responsibilities.

PEO-5 Entrepreneurship: Graduates will use their technical and presentation skills to be successful entrepreneur to enhance the self employability.

Program Outcomes (PO’s)
  • PO1. Engineering Knowledge: Apply the knowledge of mathematics, science, engineering fundamentals, and an engineering specialization to the solution of complex engineering problems.
  • PO2. Problem Analysis: Identify, formulate, review research literature, and analyse complex engineering problems reaching substantiated conclusions using first principles of mathematics, natural sciences, and engineering sciences.
  • PO3. Design/Development of Solutions: Design solutions for complex engineering problems and design system components or processes that meet the specified needs with appropriate consideration for the public health and safety, and the cultural, societal, and environmental considerations.
  • PO4. Conduct investigations of Complex Problems: Use research-based knowledge and research methods including design of experiments, analysis and interpretation of data, and synthesis of the information to provide valid conclusions.
  • PO5. Modern Tool Usage: Create, select, and apply appropriate techniques, resources, and modern engineering and IT tools including prediction and modelling to complex engineering activities with an understanding of the limitations.
  • PO6. The Engineer and Society: Apply reasoning informed by the contextual knowledge to assess societal, health, safety, legal and cultural issues and the consequent responsibilities relevant to the professional engineering practice.
  • PO7. Environment and Sustainability: Understand the impact of the professional engineering solutions in societal and environmental contexts, and demonstrate the knowledge of, and need for sustainable development.
  • PO8. Ethics: Apply ethical principles and commit to professional ethics and responsibilities and norms of the engineering practice.
  • PO9. Individual and team work: Function effectively as an individual, and as a member or leader in diverse teams, and in multidisciplinary settings.
  • PO10. Communication: Communicate effectively on complex engineering activities with the engineering community and with society at large, such as, being able to comprehend and write effective reports and design documentation, make effective presentations, and give and receive clear instructions.
  • PO11. Project management and finance: Demonstrate knowledge and understanding of the engineering and management principles and apply these to one's own work, as a member and leader in a team, to manage projects and in multidisciplinary environments.
  • PO12. Life-long learning: Recognize the need for, and have the preparation and ability to engage in independent and life-long learning in the broadest context of technological change.
Program Specific Outcomes (PSO's)
  • PSO-1: The ability to understand and apply fundamental knowledge of various fields of Electronics and Communication Engineering in the analysis and design of different types of electronics and communication systems.
  • PSO-2: Ability in using electronic modern tools (both software and hardware) for the design and analysis to solve complex electronic problems.
  • PSO-3: Ability to adopt the changing work environment, to develop good interpersonal skills as an individual and leader in a team in appreciation of professional ethics and societal responsibilities.
